
As we farewell our outgoing Chair, Hayden, it’s time to reflect on his incredible contributions to the New Zealand Cemeteries and Crematoria Collective (NZCCC) and our wider industry. Over his years of service, including eight as Chair, Hayden’s leadership and dedication have left an indelible mark on our collective.
Steadying the ship
The past five years have been challenging for our industry. From navigating the aftermath of COVID-19 to addressing internal and external pressures, Hayden’s calm, steady leadership has been a constant. Hayden stepped into the role during a time of uncertainty and provided the stability we needed to move forward. His guidance kept us on course, ensuring we maintained our reputation and visibility, throughout the tough times.
A tireless work ethic
Hayden’s drive and progressive thinking have inspired us all. Despite balancing a heavy workload, he continuously challenged us to innovate, strive for greater impact, and think beyond the immediate challenges. His vision positioned NZCCC as a leading voice for cemeteries and crematoria in Aotearoa.
Laying a strong foundation
Hayden’s legacy includes the solid operational structure he built for NZCCC. He worked to implement tools like Office 365, NZCCC emails, a new website URL, and a SharePoint system have transformed the way we work. These innovations ensure future committees have the tools to succeed.
Building connections
Beyond the visible contributions, Hayden’s behind-the-scenes work has been just as impactful. From fostering relationships with stakeholders to representing NZCCC at national and international forums, his commitment has been unmatched. He gave generously of his time, often at the expense of personal moments with his whānau.
On behalf of the NZCCC committee, we offer our heartfelt thanks to Hayden for his leadership, vision, and countless contributions. We wish him and his whānau every success in the next chapter. Wherever Hayden goes, we know he will continue to make a difference.
